        YEAR    :    2016
PROGRAM    :    House
                                STATUS    :    Undergraduate Project

Yolo Mansion which was my first design project ever, designed for a musician (rapper) on a 16x50 metres of a plot near a very narrow stream as a small summer house located in Şile, Istanbul. The aim was to provide the client with a summer house where he can enjoy his holidays but also being able to work on his music if he feels like. Therefore, the house was designed in 2 separate forms with a glazed bridge to connect them. The living part has form of a narrow, long block which gets wider through the end and the studio part is a cylindrical shaped mass which was elevated with slanted steel columns.

The house contains a double height, narrow entrance a long hallway to open space living area. There is a bathroom, a storage and a guest room along the way. As the hallway's facade is facing the northwest, the whole facade was glazed to make most of the sunshine to provide the house with natural sunlight and heating at harsh Şile winters. Living Room and open kitchen looks on to the stream over the long, narrow infinite pool which salutes the form of the house by the glazed northern facade of the house. Upper level contains a huge open space master bedroom with a hottub looking facing the stream sight over the garden view and a hobby room.

The cylindric studio part elevated to a level lower than the first floor and connected to the main building at the landing with a glass bridge. The widening shape of the cylinder was used to create better acoustics inside the studio.
