YEAR    :    2023
                  PROGRAM    :    Interior Design, Retail
STATUS    :    Concept Design & Application Project

This is the interior design project of the 3rd level of Diaz Mounting & Jewellery store located in a historical building at the historical peninsula of Istanbul which I did in collabration with Öykü Köksal (Architect).

The aim of the design was to provide a retail shopping area for special costumers on the 3rd floor of the building where people can spend long time comfortably, picking jewellery for long hours without getting tired. Therefore, as well as the luxury, elegant design, the functionality and comfort of costumers were taken into consideration. Huge niches created for the jewellery carrying cars our clients use were designed to provide the staff with fast and efficient presentations of the merchandise. The idea was to use the jewellery cars which they use to carry all the merchandise to the upper floors as the medium for presentations and storage in the showroom. Also, a manager room with two desks and a cashier's office was designed attached to the showroom counter as asked.

4 different layout of plans were considered and 2 different variations of designs were drawn for our client. 2nd design was the 1st design being revised according to the economical and functional concerns. Wooden Floor decided to be left untouched, more space for jewellery vehicles and more storage cabinets were designed.

Some changes in the design were made as asked by the client. The niches turned into spaces with more capacity of hosting Jewellery vehicles. Cabinets storage areas were maximized. 2 of the front facade's windows were closed with jewellery vehicles but the design was made so that when there is no vehicles, windows can be opened. Also, the roller blinds were designed as vertical blinds as the result of client's wishes and aesthetical concerns.
